We saw these two illusionist – magic with a Christian twist – on our trip to Colorado. They were amazing. We saw them two different times with a completely different show each time. They also conducted a workshop for the kids where they taught them some simple tricks and illusions. These two performers do [...]
Hobbit Doll House
I have never had an interest in miniatures until now:
Here is a shot of the hallway:
Very impressive – more photos at the artists site.
Fluorescent Cells
Bioephemera, one of my favorite reads, posted about the 2010 GE Healthcare Cell Analyzer contest. Apparently after staining, you can generate some awesome images at the cellular level. This is one from last year and it is human epidermal keratinocytes stained for myosin (green), actin (red) and DNA (blue).
One More Kitefest photo
This awesome kite was actually a ground display but when the wind would whip up, it would lift into the air.
2010 Kite Fest
We spent Saturday at the Kansas City Kite Fest 2010. It was awesome. There were hundreds of kites in the sky. A beautiful day and really good time. Here is shot of the sky as we were leaving. Most of the kites were down by then but there were still [...]
Lil Buddy Ninja
This picture cracks me up

A new way to pop corn
This is crazy; I had no idea. Why does this work
Sine wave synthesizer
I couldn’t stop playing with this:
Simple sinewave synthesizer triggered by an ordinary 16step sequencer. Each triggered step causes a force on the underlaying wave-map, which makes it more cute.
Snow in Kazakhstan
In case anyone was planning a pleasure trip to Kazakhstan, you might want to wait a few days until the snow passes. These shots were sent to me by JC – who is not on a pleasure trip.
Fonts
Nice site for fonts. They are categorized by name which makes it little difficult but there is no junk…just download and install.
1970′s vans
I had forgotten about this 1970′s craze. They were cool machines. My friend had one with an abstract supernova emblazoned on the side – you could pack ten kids inside and you could have gotten more but the speakers took up lots of room – ahhhh! nostalgia

Some Strange Motorcycles
I like people who do extreme things even though it makes no practical sense whatsoever.
Thanks for the photos JC!
20 Great American Short Stories
At American Literature they have over 2000 short stories you can read online. Here is a list of 20 they consider to be particularly great. I was surprised at how many I have read and I actually remember them. It is comforting to know I can read the others online anytime I want to…later.
