The ASCII Curtain

asciitree1.JPG

asciitree2.JPGIt looks like a silhouette of a a tree – a beautiful image for your home but it is really just a printed design of ASCHII ASCII. I like it! That probably says a lot about me.

Wow – normally I’d keep my mouth shut but in the interest of being an old man with nothing better to do at 3:50am except spout off about the good-old-days, I have to say that I looked up “ASCHII” just to make sure I hadn’t missed something new and hip and pop and all iTuney and stuff. Cuz back in my day, it was called ASCII. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII

No big deal and forgive me for saying anything and I’ll go back to my stinkin’ hole now, but if your grandkids starting referring to it as good ol’ KANANSSAS in 2026, you’d probably speak up too. :-)

Oh, and the curtain is really cool! http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=133786 is a neato application that can turn any regular digital photo or image into ASCII art. Here are examples of the output (which only takes a few seconds to create once you’ve goofed with the program), including Mr. J-Walk: http://www.wholewheatradio.org/wiki/index.php/ASCII_art

You know, I thought it looked funny but I thought it might have been a regional geek thing. You know much the same way as: labor or labour; practice or practise; organization or organisation; Brian or Bryan

Anyway I corrected it. Thanks Jim and get some sleep!
